t was a great weekend in Las Vegas at the annual Salute to the Troops participating in events at the Mirage Resort, Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, Mandalay Bay Resort, and the Fremont Street Experience. This event served as an expression of thanks to those who serve in the U.S. armed forces, American Airlines is partnering with MGM Resorts International and the United Service Organizations (USO).
Gary Sinise & The Lt. Dan Band rocked the streets of the Fremont Street Experience that hosted this event for the third year with a post-Veterans Day free concert featuring actor and humanitarian Gary Sinise’s Lt. Dan Band. Gary Sinise & The Lt. Dan Band’s “Salute to the Troops” concert at Fremont Street Experience had people dancing in the streets kicking off with the Nellis Air Force Base Color Guard and Lt. Daniel Vargas singing the national anthem. The Salute to the Troops, with free performances by Gary Sinise and The Lt. Dan Band, Christopher Cross and Phil Vandel, was a sight to see with the more than 100 wounded warriors who attended via the USO and through the Air Power Foundation; American Airlines, to be celebrated for the sacrifices they have made for our freedom.

Special entertainment guest, Jim Karol, World’s Greatest Mentalist, performed a feat of magic with Sandra Taylor, also known as Sandi Korn, and was named “America’s #1 Selling Poster Model; showed why he is one of the top mentalists in the world. Jim Karol’s role with G.I. Joe Coffee as a key member of its executive staff and connection to the benefits of coffee on the brain, will enable the coffee company to not only be a coffee brand out on the market, but a brand that represents so much more with support for the troops as well as a product that can help those with brain issues.
The wounded warriors were greeted with fanfare when they arrived Friday November 13th on their charter flight from Walter Reed Army Medical Center out of Bethesda, MD; visited the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay Resort.
Tony Hudson, his wife Karen, and Jim Karol, represented G.I. Joe Coffee Company and helped with serving the troops who were having the time of their lives during this weekend.
Elaine Rogers, President and CEO of the USO of Metropolitan Washington (USO-Metro), organized and orchestrated a huge team of USO, American Airlines and additional volunteers to make this salute a memorable experience.
